Justin Bieber (New Hip Hop Sensation)

Let me preface by saying this is a true story. I couldn't even make this one up.
It was just announced that all around great guy, Justin Bieber, has been nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 2010 BET Awards. Yea, BET, Black Entertainment Television. This guy is really taking the world by storm. To tell you the truth, I still haven't heard any of his songs and until last week I didn't even know he was a singer. I thought he was just the new JTT but wasn't on a great show like Home Improvement, he was just there??? Anyways, we are very proud of you JB, keep it coming. Win that award for Canadians, gingers, preteens and us at 9021?
Check BET.com for more on this...

Sigue Sigue Sputnik-Love Missile F1-11
Happy Thursday to those of you who couldn't possibly go to school on a day like today.

You may ask yourself....Well....How did I get here?

"The seemingly inescapable fact that matter and antimatter particles destroy each other on contact has long puzzled physicists wondering how life, the universe or anything else can exist at all. But new results from a particle accelerator experiment suggest that matter does seem to win in the end."

Song of the Day 5/17/2010

E.L.O.-Diary of Horace Wimp
I know it's hard to believe this but T-Pain did not invent autotune. Lil' Wayne did, duh, why do you think he's so frickin famous. Jeff Lynne of E.L.O. just recently met Lil' Wayne through mutual homeboy, Drake. Wayne then taught Jeff Lynne the art of autotune and the outcome, Horace Wimp. So cool

Biebs + Miles

"Calm yourself Bieber fans! They’re just friends. During an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," JBiebs insisted he was "just hanging out" with his fellow teen star after the two of them were snapped on their way to dinner at Ari-Ya at the Beverly Center in LA on Monday night. "Like, I'm dating around, hanging out with girls, but not really dating," the 16-year-old told DeGeneres." Yahoo!

Damn, I didn't even have to bust out the fly graphic skills on this one. These two are just making it too easy for me.

Check it Out-Worth Checking Out

Check it Out! is the new spin off of Tim and Eric starring John C. Reilly. It has the feel of a public access show and it's one of the funniest 15 minutes on TV. The show airs at 12:30am on Sundays, so try and stay up, it's worth it. It's a mindbender for sure.Steve Brule is Ed Grimsley meets Bill Murray in Caddyshack.

Tonight: LA Art Walk in Downtown

If you haven't gone yet, it's worth checking out. It's a great atmosphere and if you have grown up in LA your whole life, like we have, it's nice to hang out in an area that was off limits at one time and go for a stroll. The Art Walks are going down the second Thursday of every month and usually produce nice crowds, especially coming up on the summer months. Most of the stores in the area and all galleries are open late. Usually some fun parties too. For more info, folow them on Twitter

Artist to Watch: Baths

Last night was Baths' first night as a resident performer at the Low End Theory at the Airliner, a gem of a bar tucked away in Lincoln Heights, just north of Downtown LA. The lineup last night included BBC Radio 1 DJ, Mary Ann Hobbs and local heroes, Daddy Kev and Gaslamp Killer. Baths made an impressive debut with an array of electronic sounds and adds his own live singing which is later looped and distorted to create a very refreshing sound o dance to. He's from Chattsworth which is cool. Duh. Check him out, he's there every Wednesday

The Takeover Part 2

Art in Numbers 9021? Review

This past Saturday, some of LA's best up and coming artists were displayed at Art in Numbers at High Profile Productions in Culver City. The show itself was done very tastefully and proceeds went to the Vision Center Charity. We saw some great art, the standout of course was LA's best young photographer, Kevin Hayes. His Photo titled Iceberg Slim (far left, center) features a wall eyed woman, gazing off into the distance. This is one of many in a series of female portrtaits that can be viewed at Kevin's Site

Worth a look.

Hot Girl I Went to High School With Needs Money For Her Sex Comedy

In one of the most clever attempts I've seen at raising money for a movie, 9021?'s own, Hillary Lowe has made her Sex Comedy, 3B: A Short Sex Comedy public. You can go on Hillary's Site and donate any amount of money, starting at as little as $20. The clips that I have seen look very funny, so hopefully this gets produced to the masses.

Hopefully Oprah and Obama don't get on board with this movement, our economy will really go to shit. At least food cost will drop. So that's a good thing.

Life Owner Tour Rumor

In a recent interview, Life Owner, Los Angeles DJ group, stated that they were going to launch a west coast tour with 2 LA dates. More to come on this story.

Yea...

Free Del The Funkee Homosapien Show @The roxy

Why Not?

Finally, Fallon

This guy is in no way cut out to host a late show or a late late late night show for that matter. He does however have the Roots that can carry a show. This week like all the other weeks, his musical acts will be the main draw. All of Jimmy Fallon's musical acts will be covering a song from The Rolling Stones: Exile on Main St. A week that will reintroduce the new Exile on Main St. box set.
Last night Green Day did an amazing job with Rip This Joint and the rest of the week looks to be promising as well. At least the last part of the show.

Other artists scheduled to save Jimmy Fallon's show are: Keith Urban, Sherryl Crow and Phish.

Phish will obviously be the best act. Afterall, it was only about 8 months ago that they covered the entire Rolling Stones album in its enitrety, so I think they have this performance pretty much mapped out at this point.

Tuesday Night's Programming

Straight Outta LA
Directed by: Ice Cube
Premieres tonight, Tuesday May 11 8PM ESPN

"In 1982, Raiders owner Al Davis beat the NFL in court and moved his team from Oakland to Los Angeles. With a squad as colorful as its owner, the Raiders captivated a large number of black and Hispanic fans in L.A. at a time when gang warfare, immigration and the real estate boom were rapidly changing the city. The L.A. Raiders morphed into a worldwide brand as the team’s colors, swagger and anti-establishment ethos became linked with the hip-hop scene that was permeating South Central Los Angeles. Rapper-turned-filmmaker Ice Cube was not only witness to this evolution, he was also a part of it. As a member of the notorious rap group N.W.A, Ice Cube helped make the silver and black culturally significant to a new generation and demographic. Still a die-hard Raiders fan, Cube will explore the unlikely marriage between the NFL’s rebel franchise and America’s glamour city and show how pro football’s outlaw team became the toast of La La Land."
